Here’s a quick recap of April 2015 in my training leading up to Ironman.
Numbers:
- AprilΒ 2014: I spent 28 hours training β a total of 415 miles.
- AprilΒ 2015: I spent 37 hours training β a total of 375 miles.
How do these numbers add up? Well This year I’ve been recording my swims unlike last year, which will explain a large percentage of the hours and a huge decrease in mileage.
Here is the graph from Garmin connect.
- Running: 421 mins
- Cycling: 1,116Β mins
- Swimming: 477 mins
- Total: 2,014 mins
So in March I achieved 1,750mins of training, which made me mentally set a target of 2,000mins in April. It was close as you can see, I only just achieved this by 14 minutes.
For a week in April I was in Marbella, Spain for work. I managed to get a swim in the pool one evening, but unfortunately I fell ill whilst over there with suspected foot poisioning and was throwing up for three days which knocked me out from training, but I still feel I did well even with this week out.
At the end of May I have my first booked triathlon –Β Royal Wootton Bassett which is a sprint triathlon and then two weeks after that I have Eton man. Unfortunately after Eton Man I’m away for around two weeks, so training will take a huge dip in June but I shall pick it back up in July.
